I have met many people who were born in the places I lived and never left. This fascinated me because I always wondered why they chose to stay. Was it that they could not or did not want to leave? Was it too expensive? Are they closer to family? Is the love for the only land that they have known that strong? This body of work explores the people who were born and raised here in Arkansas. For this project I am using photography to understand themes of home, identity, stereotypes, landscape, routine and comfort.
